Recipe development, food photography & the book

I have been spending some time lately re-testing recipes intended for the real fuel book, creating new recipes and taking and editing a lot of pictures of food. I love how this book project has evolved over the last few years... I don't really love how long this project has been taking.

2015 will be different though. I have the deal with the self publishing company going again and have hired awesome graphic designers for the ebook version. I also realized that I am a highly visual person and I like my projects fairly well structured in the way that I need to see how everything will 'flow' and look. I came to a conclusion that word documents have been 'paralyzing' me in a way... I was having a hard time entering all the recipes and other text into a word document, which is kind of bad when trying to write a book!

So, I came up with a creative solution. I designed a password protected website, where I have separate pages for recipes, sport nutrition strategies, ingredient highlights and other info that will be in the book. I have notes of things that need to be done, I have been tagging/categorizing everything so I can find what I need as I move forward with this project and I have pictures next to each recipe so I can see what everything is going to look like. Also, my designers have access to the website so they can pull all the info as needed. I guess they can also try the recipes... A perk of the job?! :)

I am very excited to have this project done already and am thankful for the patience of support of so many people. I am also back on the blogging bandwagon, after completely overhauling all my websites. Can someone remind me again why I have so many projects on the go?! haha. Here are the latest recipes posted on Fueling Endurance Performance. Click on each picture to go to the recipe!
